What is santosha again?
Let’s ponder this continuous idea
Yoga Sutra 11.42: “By contentment, the highest happiness is attained.”
—the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali
santosha is also the second niyama
currently I’m reading the Yamas & Niyamas *again*
and here’s something to meditate on IF you’re finding CONTENTMENT is a struggle for you.
Meditation Practice on Santosha:
Come into a comfortable seated posture, on the floor or in a chair. Close your eyes and allow yourself to relax by taking 10 slow, deep breaths. When you feel relaxed and comfortable, put your attention on your heart and for the next few minutes, think of all the things in your life that you could be grateful for. Just sit there quietly. As you think of the things you are grateful for, experience the warmth that gratitude brings into your heart. There is so much to be grateful for and the feeling of gratitude brings even deeper feelings of love, compassion, and understanding into your heart. Sit quietly with these feelings for a few minutes, and when you’re ready, slowly open your eyes.

One extremely important part of each day, is to have your Morning & Nightly Rituals “nSYNC”
(oh, relates to my insomnia that is coming to a halt.)
I still use my 8 pound breathing pillow now to put on my tummy at night. It seems to be helping with the insomnia.
BUT…
spending quality time in meditation (20 minutes in the morning & up to 20 before bed or while in bed), can alleviate a growing number of “situations” we find ourselves in daily.
CAN…
you empty your mind?
breathe to relax?
relax, period?
VITAL!
